Krafton India has officially announced that the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2026 (BGIS 2026) will feature a massive prize pool of INR 4 crore. This makes BGIS 2026 breaks records the largest prize pool in the history of India Series. Previously, Krafton had mentioned a prize pool of INR 2 crore or higher, but the exact amount was not revealed then. An in-game banner now explicitly confirms that the total prize money has indeed been increased to INR 4 crore.

Compared to the previous event, the new prize fund is larger. With a prize pool of INR 3.2 crore, BGIS 2025 was already among the largest in Indian mobile esports. BGIS 2026 has now set a new record for the competition with INR 4 crore at stake. This rise demonstrates Krafton’s intense commitment to expanding the BGMI esports market in India.
A BGMI competition has previously provided a prize pool of INR 4 crore. The same prize money was offered in the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS 2025) earlier in 2025. 2025 and 2026 are crucial years for Indian BGMI competitive gaming since BGIS 2026 has joined the list, making INR 4 crore the joint-highest prize pool in BGMI esports history.
BGIS 2026 Dates and Format Explained
Starting on January 26, 2026, and lasting more than two months, the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2026 (BGIS 2026) will conclude with the Grand Finals in late March 2026. Professional and up-and-coming teams will have an equal opportunity to compete thanks to the tournament’s many online stages.
Round 1 is scheduled to run between January 26 and February 1, 2026.
Round 1 of BGIS 2026 will feature a staggering 1024 teams. The bottom 8 teams from The Grind Group D will also advance to this stage, while 1016 teams will qualify through in-game qualifiers. The teams will be split up into 64 groups, each with 16 teams.
Over the course of eight matchdays, each side will play six games. The top seven teams from each group will advance to the next round. The top 48 teams from the remaining teams will advance alongside them. A total of 496 teams will advance to the second round.
Round 2 is scheduled to run between February 5 and February 8, 2026.
512 teams will compete across four matchdays in Round 2. In addition to the top 8 teams from The Grind Group D and the bottom 8 teams from The Grind Group C, this comprises 496 teams from Round 1. Teams will be split up into 32 groups, each consisting of 16 teams.
Once more, each club will play six games. Together with the top 16 teams from the remaining teams, the top 7 teams from each group will advance to the next round. As a result, 240 teams will advance to Round 3.
Round 3 is scheduled to run between Feburary 12 and February 15, 2026.
In Round 3, a total of 256 teams will participate. This number comprises 240 teams advancing from Round 2, in addition to the top 8 teams from The Grind Group C and the bottom 8 teams from The Grind Group B. The teams will be organized into 16 groups, each containing 16 teams.
During this stage, all teams will compete in 6 matches. The top 6 teams from each group will qualify, along with the top 16 teams from the remaining participants. Consequently, 112 teams will progress to Round 4 at the conclusion of this round.
Round 4 is scheduled to run between Feburary 19 and February 22, 2026.
Round 4 will showcase 128 teams. This includes 112 teams from Round 3, the top 8 teams from The Grind Group B, and the bottom 8 teams from The Grind Group A. The teams will be categorized into 8 groups, with each group consisting of 16 teams.
Each team will engage in 6 matches. The top 7 teams from each group, totaling 56 teams, will qualify directly for the Quarter Finals. Additionally, the top 8 teams from the remaining teams will advance to the Wildcard stage.
Quarter Finals: February 26 to March 1 in 2026
The Quarter Finals will involve 64 teams competing over 4 matchdays. This group includes 56 teams from Round 4 and the top 8 teams from The Grind Group A. The teams will be split into 4 groups of 16 teams each.
Upon completion of all matches, the top 16 teams based on overall standings will qualify for the Semi Finals. Teams ranked 17th to 40th, totaling 24 teams, will move on to the Wildcard stage.
Wildcard Stage: March 5 to March 8 in 2026
The Wildcard stage will consist of 32 teams. This includes 24 teams from the Quarter Finals and 8 teams from Round 4. The teams will be organized into 4 groups of 8 teams each and will compete in a round-robin format.
Each team will play 12 matches across 4 matchdays. At the end of this stage, the top 8 teams will qualify for the Semi Finals.
Semi Finals: March 12 to March 15 in 2026
The Semi Finals will feature 24 teams, comprising 16 teams from the Quarter Finals and 8 teams from the Wildcard stage. The teams will be divided into 3 groups of 8 teams each and will follow a double round-robin format.
Each team is scheduled to compete in 16 matches. The leading 8 teams will automatically qualify for the Grand Finals, whereas the remaining 16 teams will advance to the Survival Stage.
Survival Stage: March 16 to March 17, 2026
The Survival Stage will occur over 2 matchdays and will include 16 teams. A total of 12 matches will be conducted, with 6 matches taking place each day. The top 8 teams from this stage will earn their places in the Grand Finals.
BGIS 2026 Grand Finals: March 27 to March 29, 2026
The BGIS 2026 Grand Finals are set to take place from March 27 to March 29, 2026, at a location in India that will be announced later. A total of 16 teams will participate, comprising 8 teams from the Semi Finals and 8 teams from the Survival Stage. The Grand Finals will consist of 18 matches, with 6 matches held each day, to determine the champion of BGIS 2026.
